Ceramic Glaze Frit / Mixture

Ceramic Frits are vitreous substances used in making glazes. In common terms it can be described as a substance that is fused in a kiln, quenched to form a glass like product that is granulated. Frit is also recognized as a combination of oxides. Its purpose is to render soluble and hazardous components insoluble by combining them with silica and other oxides.

Presence of various oxides and the way the reaction happens during the tile firing cycle results in the formation of intermediate compositions which could be either vitreous or crystalline. This in turn determines the various types of surfaces such as glazed or matt or satin matt etc.

Manufacturing Facilities

	We have four state of the art natural gas based continuous furnaces.
	In addition we do have an option of batch furnaces for any specialized frits.
	Furnaces built with high quality electrocast and mullite refractory

Raw Materials

	We source high quality raw materials including mineral powders and chemicals
	All input raw materials are tested for conformity with approved standard for that specific raw material. Only if the test is passed does that material get approved for use in manufacturing.

Laboratory Facilities

	We have a special gas fired lab roller kiln to test tiles in “Real Time” for the surface characteristics post glazing.
	Laboratory pot mills for grinding frits and making glaze.
	Laboratory electric roller kiln from Europe to test surface at any temperature.
	Spectrophotometer to test opacity / transparency.
	Dilatometer for testing the thermal expansion

We offer our glazing service solutions at your plant, by arranging for our glaze representative to visit your factory and ensure the optimum use of the frit / composto in your specific plant.
